Mattel is showing off the Hello Barbie Hologram this weekend at the New York Toy Fair. The animated Barbie hologram lives inside a box and waits for a child to ask her a question or invite her to dance.

Why every US carrier suddenly changed their unlimited plan this week


It’s been a weird week in the world of major cell providers. After years of moving away from offering unlimited plans after the rise of data-hungry smartphones, Verizon announced out of the blue on Sunday that it would be offering a new unlimited plan to customers again. T-Mobile, who had previously led the way by removing tiered data back in January, updated its own unlimited plan to match. The move was followed by Sprint and AT&T by the end of the week.

Our thoughts: Even as unlimited plan come back to the cellular industry, Wi-Fi is still positioned well for the future.

Please stop charging your phone in public ports

Public charging stations and wi-fi access points are found in places like airports, planes, conference centers and parks, so people can always have access to their phones and data. But connecting your phone to an unknown port has its risks.
Our thoughts: On iOS, devices are asked to trust what is on the other end. If you ever run across this, you'll want to say no.
